Shecter, a board certified emergency medicine physician with over five years experience working in Southern Florida emergency rooms has opened up Urgent Family Care, Inc., which is a walk in center for minor medical emergencies located at 2337 South University Drive in Davie, in the Promenade West Shopping Center. Dr. Shecter is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He did his emergency medicine residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center located in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Shecter will be able to take care of minor medical emergencies including sore throats, coughs, colds, cut fingers (i.e. lacerations), twisted ankles, earaches, etc. Urgent Family Care, Inc. will also have a board certified Family Medicine physician with hospital admitting privileges who will have a typical Family medicine office including school physicals, work physicals, immunizations, Pap smears, etc. Both physicians are fluent in Spanish and both are certified for Workers Compensation injuries. Additionally, Urgent Family Care, Inc. will have a complete physical therapy set up staffed by licensed physical therapists, including occupational and massage therapy. The office is very spacious with ten examining rooms and is very tastefully decorated. It has an on site x-ray machine, and laboratory services are available.
